A gay couple says they were asked not to return to a Texas restaurant because they "don't serve ****" there.

Collin Dewberry and Kelly Williams ate breakfast at Big Earl's Bait House and Galley Cafe in Pittsburg, Texas, on Tuesday, May 27, but after paying the bill, they said they were met with hate, KLTV reports. The couple said a waitress, who happened to be owner Earl Cheney's daughter, told them "We don't serve **** here," before saying: “Here at Big Earl’s we like for men to act like men and for ladies to act like ladies, so we want you to never return.”

That's not only rude, it's a terrible financial/business decision.

Even if you have religious views against homosexuality, which I completely understand, the world is full of sinners and you don't know everyone's sins just by looking at them. Your favorite regular could be an adulterer. Or a liar. Just serve everyone the same - that's your job!

I hate Texas even though I'm living there

I like how they said that AFTER the couple paid for their meal. They don't like homosexuals, yet they took their money. Not surprising though, it's Texas. Everything is bigger in Texas, including bigotry.

I have no idea what Big Earls is but this is truly disgusting.

Is this even legal? I know the law doesn't explicitly state sexuality, but this is a clear case of discrimination. They should sue.

Sexual preference is not race, color, religion, or natural origin. It's a life choice. Getting around that wording would be tricky. If the restaurant is privately owned, they can serve whoever they want within the boundaries of the law, which this appears to be.

I mean it is in Texas...

Choosing who you want to sleep with, from person to person as well as in the broader sense, is ultimately a choice, no?
