Ello all. 2013 in music was quite the journey for me. I discovered lots of amazing acts who I'll be following from here on out. As for the mainstream acts, they weren't so bad themselves. Just overplayed to the high heavens like every year. Still a few good tracks in there tho. Anyway enough talking let's get down to business. The following is what I'll be counting down:
We kick off the countdown with a chill track by French Montana. It was his year to tell us what he's not worried about. And that was apparently not a damn thing.
99. Blake Shelton - Sure Be Cool If You Did
This funky, country track by Blake Shelton is a great ballad about meeting that someone for the first time and falling pretty hard. I'm a sucker for those songs.
98. Charli XCX - How Can I
This song sounds dangerous. The production is pretty haunting, especially on the chorus with the bass as she repeats "How can I fix what I ****ed up?"
96. Tyler, the Creator - Domo 23
Tyler, the Creator is a pretty random dude and this song is no exception. I'm not quite exactly sure what this is about, but the song has some nice production and the lyrics are pretty cool.
*****, Money, and Weed...that's all some people need. That is all.
94. Alice in Chains - Stone
When I first heard this song it was the music video and I had to take a second look because the guitar riffs were off the hook. The production really draws you in and then it's over.
93. Avenged Sevenfold - Hail to the King
Just like "Stone", "Hail to the King" the guitars really drew me into this song. It's also a pretty badass song. I could see a WWE wrestler with this as their entrance theme.
92. Love & Death feat. Mattie Montgomery - I W8 4 U
The third song in a row with excellent guitar work. The production really hits you here and the lyrics are frustratingly meaningful to boot as lead singer, Head, screams "I wait for you always will. Always do."
91. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Sacrilege
Is this a gospel song? No. It just sounds like one...especially at the end. Yeah Yeah Yeahs really delivered with this hymnal jam.
