The Next Day to be re-released this October
Quote:
David Bowie’s Mercury Prize-nominated album "The Next Day" will be reissued next month as a three-disc collector’s edition with a handful of previously-unreleased tracks.
The set, called “The Next Day Extra,” includes the original 14-track CD, a 10-track CD of bonus tracks and a DVD of the four promotional films already released for the album: “Where Are We Now?,” “The Stars (Are Out Tonight),” “The Next Day” and “Valentine’s Day.”

The 10-track CD will carry four new works. It’ll also present two new mixes -- including a remix by LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy -- and “God Bless The Girl,” a track lifted from the Japanese release of “The Next Day.” The bonus song from the deluxe edition of The Next Day” will make up the remaining three tracks.
The reissue will arrive Nov. 5.
The Thin White Duke celebrated his 66th birthday earlier this year by dropping a new single "Where Are We Now?" and he announced news of his first album since "Reality" ten years ago. “The Next Day” went on to be a global hit, arriving at No. 1 in 15 countries including the U.K. In the U.S., it opened at No. 2.
"The Next Day" is one of 12 albums nominated for Britain’s prestigious Mercury Prize. It’s too early to call, but Bowie is surely out in front with the sentimental vote. And he’s neck-and-neck with 2006 winners Arctic Monkeys, according to bookmakers William Hill.
The last time Bowie was in the hunt for a Mercury Prize was 2002, with his album “Heathen.” The winner that time was Ms Dynamite’s “A Little Deeper.
