I am aware of my minor or non-existent recognizance on this site, but I'm making my first year-end chart for fun, because like you, music is my life.
I have been compiling an offline personal chart since 2011 and I'm happy about it. I just can't commit to weekly posting here because I'm busy of school.
My chart would be limitless, meaning any song/album will be allowed to participate regardless of release date.
I will be starting as soon as Christmas Break.
THE THEME IS POLAROID. The idea is to set you in this mellow vibe I want you to be in through photographs. I love photographs. They could be of anything, but are always representative of colorful or dull emotions. I think photographs are healthy for the heart and the mind. I hope you could appreciate this little thing I can give.
My Year-End would include:
Top 100 Songs
Top 13 Albums
Top 13 Artists
MMXV AWARDS
-Song Of The Year
-Record Of The Year
-Album Of The Year
-Best New Artist
+ More
Also, Surprise Intermission Videos
Hey.
Thank you for passing by. It means a lot. I hope we could bond in this little venture. Good day!
Kicking off the list is Ellie Goulding's Army. I related to this song so much on first listen because this song bottled my feelings towards my best friend. We have this non-romantic type of love but it's the most powerful thing ever. I found out later that Ellie did write this song about her best friend.
Favorite lyrics: When I'm with you, I'm standing with an army
Ever since the first version of this song came about, I knew it would be a somber perfection. I was not proven wrong. This song is my go-to song whenever I'm feeling the Lana vibe, that dark corner in everyone's heart.
Favorite lyrics:
Because you're young, you're wild, you're free,
You're dancin' circles around me,
You're ****in' crazy
I've been a casual fan of Jess since 'Rather Be', moreso now that she's released her debut album. This song is plain in terms of lyrics, but what gives this spiritual energy is Glynne's vocals. If her vocals could be eaten, I would eat a lot of it. This is a simple disco song that is inspirational at the same time.
Favorite lyrics:
I learned to wave goodbye
How not to see my life
Through someone else's eyes
It's not an easy road
But no I'm not alone
97. Marvin Gaye - Charlie Puth Featuring Meghan Trainor
The only reason why I liked 'See You Again' was Charlie Puth. This guy's music is simple but he's got this friendly vanilla flare. This cute song with Meghan Trainor is one that plays intimacy in a jolly light.
Favorite lyrics:
It's so subtle
(It's so subtle)
I'm in trouble
(I'm in trouble)
But I'd rather be in trouble with you
I've witnessed Fifth Harmony's journey from the birth. My instant favorite is Camila Cabello because she was cute and her vocals appealed to me better than the others. This song is where Camila shined, this is her song. It's simple, it's ratchet, it's good.
Favorite lyrics:
Why you think I'm puttin' on my favorite perfume?
Why you think this dress so tight that I can barely move?
Why you think I'm dancin' in these uncomfortable shoes?
I did it all, I did it all, I did it all for you
As far as the songs go, I like Charlie. He does have that nice wide-ranging appeal. Cruel World is one of my favorite album openers and my personal favorite off Ultraviolence, it does have that Lana vibe, and can't go wrong with Fifth Harmony
I really liked Army when I first heard it but upon hearing the album, I kinda forgot that it existed.
Lana! Yay!
I really liked Hold My Hand but I didn't get into Don't Be So Hard On Yourself easily. I still have mixed feelings over that song until now.
Marvin Gaye was cute. I'll just pretend that I didn't see the last one from this set.
