Demi and Selena have struggled to sell past 100k in the first week, and Selena still cant!! they're much bigger "media wise" and have been famous for years.

Why did Ariana scalp their wigs? (shes predicted to sell 115-120k first week)

Why do people keep saying Ariana's album was "discounted"?

The price didn't decrease... it actually increased and went up to $9.99 (on the day of release) bc of how well the album is doing and it managed to stay #1 for more than 2 or 3 days.

Yeah. But her technique is awful. She has no real control compared to Ariana who makes it look easy.

im not sure how she did it but she managed to pull in a dedicated fan base before The Way was released.

Ariana has that 90s throwback sound, which is different than most music people her age are doing.

She appeals to different audiences, Demi & Selena are only appealing to the pop crowd.

Plus Selena isn't a strong opener, longevity is key! By the way, she built herself a big fanbase on Victorious before
