For me, Harry Potter is more iconic because Star Wars seems local to US for me. But I might be proven wrong when The Force Awakens hits the theaters this Christmas.

The only character I know from Star Wars is Darth Vader and I haven't watched any Star Wars movie just yet

Star Wars and it's not even close nearly 40 years later and They're still making the movies. I was at the target age when the first HP book came out but I'm not here for it.

Star Wars is more well-known and has made a bigger impact on cinema than Harry Potter could even dream of. Of course, I wouldn't expect ATRL to realize that.
