David Desrosiers talked about Avril
In a recent interview with David, Avril was mentioned.
In case you don't know who David Desrosiers is, he's the bassist from Simple Plan.
Your growth in Simple Plan?
DD: I've definitely grown a lot, I've changed a lot. I'm a complete different person now. Maybe not totally a different person, but I've grown a lot... mature. (laughs)
How do you feel about people saying you're trying to be Emo?
DD: I'm not emo, I've never tried to be one nor do I intend to be one. I'm just growing up to somebody that I like, I don't need any labels or cliques, whatever you call them.
In a relationship?
DD: (laughs) I don't really talk about my relationships.
How do you feel about people, mainly Simple Plan Haters, who are saying that you belong in another cooler band and not Simple Plan?
DD: I've heard that a lot and I don't know why actually. But I respect everyone's opinion about people and about bands, they have the rights to do so. Say Avril Lavigne is lame for all you care, it's your opinion. Okay, no, I was kidding. Don't ever say that because she is cool.
Would you ever quit the band for this?
DD: The guys and I are best friends, I wouldn't quit the band just because of some sh*t people say. Even if I quit the band, it will uh, be a good reason!
Avril and you are still friends and in contact?
DD: Avril and I are friends, yeah, we used to be really close and together. But we've grown, we've changed and uh, she's married now and we're not much in contact because we're not always in the same town together and all. I wish her all the best in everything she does.
The Simple Plan guys claimed that you had a crush on Avril. Did you guys date?
DD: (laughs) Oh, well, uh. (laughs) No?
Thinking of touring with her again?
DD: That'll be great reunion for the Canadian Connection! (laughs)
Rumours that Simple Plan and Avril Lavigne are no more friends because of Sum 41?
DD: Uh (laughs) I don't know, whatever it is, Avril and myself, Sum 41, Deryck and me, we're friends in good terms. Ask the others personally because I don't know.
If you would ever quit this band already, what plans do you have to do in life?
DD: Since I'm free, you know, I could meet my fans and uh, thank them personally! (laughs) That'll take ages and ages! Uh. Kidding, although it'll be lovely because my fans have been great and been supporting me everytime. Uh, I think I'd be in another simple band, playing drums, you know? I'd definitely not work in McDonalds (laughs) or sweep your house floor or something. I'd probably chill and uh, spoil myself. Maybe I'd like the band plan better, I want to make music for life.
Are there any of the Simple Plan guys who you don't get along with?
DD: Chuck talks too much and he freaks me out! (laughs) Nah, I'm kidding. The guys are my best friends and uh, we get along very well, you know.
If one day, Pierre had to leave the band, would you be the Lead Singer or would you find a replace for Pierre, or would the band fall apart?
DD: That's sad to imagine but uh, I'm not sure. We've never really thought about that. Getting a replacement for Pierre is uh, probably not really a good idea because the Simple Plan guys have been together for years and years now and having a new member means uh, somehow a new start of the band. Either Simple Plan could fall apart, because Pierre's a great singer, you know or maybe I could carry on for him.
