TV Clip: Fox News: 911 dispatchers should ignore Spanish speakers

During the Wednesday edition of the program, hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade were outraged that 911 operators aren’t allowed to deny some people the emergency assistance they need. Specifically, they think people who don’t speak English should be left to suffer and die by dispatchers.

Brooks County, Texas is currently dealing with the humanitarian crisis at the border just like other counties are. But when Doocy and Kilmeade heard about a 911 call in which a non-English speaking immigrant desperately sought help for his dying cousin, they showed their lack of compassion and heartlessness to the world.

“They stumbled across the border illegally and now they need your help!” Doocy whined. “A small Texas town forced to answer 911 from stranded illegals in Spanish!”

The man begged dispatchers to send a rescue helicopter so that his “turning purple” cousin could receive medical care as fast as possible. But Steve Doocy didn’t care, and neither did Kilmeade.

“Not only are they understaffed and lacking resources, now they’ve got to deal with illegal immigrants who have no business being here,” Kilmeade complained.

Then Kilmeade interrogated Brooks County Chief Deputy Urbino Martinez about the situation. The deputy explained that 911 dispatchers must help anyone who calls in with a life or death situation. Kilmeade couldn’t handle that information, especially if the caller doesn’t sound like an American citizen. Apparently, he thinks 911 dispatchers should ask to see green cards before sending help to those in need.

KILMEADE: “So, those calls you have to respond to, even though for the most part when you get there, you realize, they’re not an American citizen?”

MARTINEZ: “That’s correct, but they’re on U.S. soil, and due process comes into play, and that’s the way we’re taking them as.”

The spanish language and mexican/latin immigrants are part of the southern states history and will always be part of it.

I always thought that southern americans understood that. I guess not.

In 50 years Spanish is going to become an official recognized language as strong as english in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Florida and Texas.

That being said, if I crossed a border illegally I wouldn't be expecting medical aid whatsoever.

Luckily, healthcare is free at point of use for everyone on UK soil. It avoids messy situations like this^ and we bill retrospectively if you are not entitled to free healthcare.

What horrible people. And they're going to be complaining in a couple of years that people think they're racist.

Those people at FOX News just seem so jealous and miserable. They seem to enjoy seeing other people suffer.

When there's a white person unemployed, they say "It's because illegal immigrants have stolen their jobs". When there's a black person unemployed they say it's because they're lazy and just want free stuff from the Government. I hate FOX News so much.

If this was happening in the UK or anywhere in Europe, there would be public outrage. Why do American people let this happen? I just don't get it. People need to stand up to them.

They're basically saying illegal immigrants deserve to die. We all know they secretly think this anyway. There was one Republican who said that illegal immigration is often more an "act of love" than it is a crime, and he's right. He gets it. The rest of the Republicans are bat-**** crazy.
