You three have got to be kidding. The hosts introduced Priyanka as an Indian actress so it's more than obvious she's from India and has an Indian accent (yes, she has one). The reporter was genuinely surprised that Priyanka could speak English well because she was under the assumption (like most people) that Indians speak broken English with some heavy accent like Apu from the Simpsons. Anyone with a functioning brain would use logic and realize that she's a celebrity, not a working class person from a village, so she had access to education. This is no different from that shop assistant telling Oprah that she should go for the cheaper products because she didn't realize it was Oprah and assumed she couldn't afford the more expensive things. Do you think that's racist?
I wouldn't be surprised if you're defending the host because you were surprised because Priyanka speaks English well too.
