This. Pokemon has sold tens of millions more copies and has been a pop culture phenomenon for over two decades. It's only behind Mario in the gaming world.

GTA is huge no doubt, but it can never touch Pokemon's success.

You have to pay for GTA though so the pool of people is smaller compared to a free app.

Tens of millions? Cute try, but GTA V alone sold +60M. Sold 11M copies in its first day and even broke records.

The Pokemon franchise is huge, but not in the gaming industry. + this game is just another fad. Just like Candy Crush and Angry Birds, it will fade with time .

Because the Pokemon franchise extends beyond video games. Even though it's one of the most successful franchises ever, and Rockstar's biggest game series, GTA is limited to the gaming world, which is impressive.
