No shade guys and girls but this is a serious question because I see a lot of talk on ATRL and nobody EVER answers the question. What makes Christina legend? Yes, we know she has the voice of an angel and she is one of the best singers of our generation. But, to many people she does not stand out and does not have any songs that will stand the test of time in her catalog. Discuss.

She is not a legend and I will be glad to explain why.

Nothing makes her a legend. When has she ever been the #1 artist of her era or genre? She is always third, fourth or fifth. All she has is her voice, and that ain't all that.

She's not a legend.

To put her among the ranks of MJ, Madonna, Elvis and The Beatles is just insulting.

She's done great for herself, but what has she done to stand out in such a way as to merit that title?

What stamp has she left on the music industry (and because even that's not enough) on pop culture?

Who knows, maybe one day she'll deliver something mind-blowing that will place her above her peers and snag her that title. But as of right now, she is NOT a legend. It's ludicrous that we're even having this discussion.

Ya'll quit acting like your opinions matter, they don't.

She's not a legend but she's definitely important to pop music and the teen pop movement of the 90s. Who cares if her fans think she's a legend? It's not like telling them otherwise is going to make them think differently. They aren't going to curl into a ball and stop liking her because of the opinion of a member on ATRL.

To be fair, NONE of the girls from our generation are legends YET (regardless of what Britney fans think). First of all, 20 years in the game is a must, they're all on their way. Christina has already started to fade so she won't make it unless she has a comeback like Mariah. Beyonce is in the lead and I'm not saying it because I'm a stan, i'm saying it because it's true. Legends are not made from album sales and costumes. Legends are made from performances, critical acclaim, awards, music, talent, and etc.... Being a legend and an icon are two very different things that simpletons on ATRL can't seem to grasp. Tina Turner is a legend, Marilyn Monroe is an icon.

See the difference.

She's not a legend and she'll never be one.

She has accomplished nothing to secure that status in even the loosest sense. Everything she's done other people have done first and all her accomplishments people have done better, and this is only in her pop class generation. There is always someone better to listen to or did it better. Always.

She's a Second Fiddler(or lower) for life.

I just always see the same "legend vs. non legend" comments about the woman and wanted to see if people had any reasonable explanations why they feel she us a legend of course they don't have them, lol. Gaga has made a bigger stamp on pop culture in her career than XTina. Not throwing shade just speaking the truth.

The fact that she has flopped and her stans have no other way of defending her career makes her a legend...

I don't think people literally mean that she is a legend, at least that's what I think.
