Right now, the Internet is unregulated in the U.S., which means you have equal access to every web site in the world, no matter what. This is called Net Neutrality, and it's a good thing.
Internet providers are working to take away Net Neutrality in the U.S., which means they will be able to decide which web sites you can go to, and which ones you can't go to. They will also decide whether a certain site goes fast or slow.
They want to do this so they can control the Internet in the U.S., forcing people to use their corporate web sites. They will be able to disable your ability to visit their competitors' sites, visit independent sites, or use other protocols (such as *******s).
Thanks TC, I get it a little better now. But that's totally dumb, another folley of the corporations. Like when I was at live earth and there were banners that said "Draft Al Gore", "Don't Believe Al Gore", and "Global Warming ? ? ? Is it real?"
