Katy Perry has the most 3x Platinum singles as a lead artist

Katy Perry's "Firework" topped the 3 million mark in paid downloads last week. The firecracker of a single is Perry's fifth song to reach that plateau, which is more than any other lead artist. Rihanna has also topped the 3 million mark with five songs, but she was the featured artist on two of those songs.
Perry's songs to top the 3 million mark are "Hot N Cold" (which is up to 4,724,000, per Nielsen SoundScan), "California Gurls" (featuring Snoop Dogg) (4,560,000), "I Kissed A Girl" (3,956,000), "Teenage Dream" (3,255,000) and "Firework" (3,162,000).
Whoa! I didn't know Hot N Cold was her most successful song (in terms of sales) to date. It's crazy though, because out of those songs, it's her least successful on the Hot 100. It just goes to show the power of digital downloads.
Congratulations to her. She really deserves the success. All of those songs are amazing.
Anyways, in a couple months, Katy will tie or beat GaGa's record for 4x platinum singles but then GaGa will probably one-up her later when "Bad Romance" becomes her third 5x platinum single.
It can easily become her most downloaded song by summer or at least the end of the year.
"Waking Up In Vegas" deserves to be up there too.
