As 2015 is coming to an end, and as we near closer to the end of this decade, I thought I'd share my thoughts on the two biggest artists of this generation.
I don't think that there can be any sufficient doubt that Adele is a legend at this point - 2015 proved her power and her influence within the music industry. Whilst many people call her music boring and unimaginative (ironically, such thoughts usually derive from those who haven't heard her albums or don't have the intellectual capacity to analyse work in lyrical form; Of course, they still pursue this uninformed opinion anyway because they have nothing left to attack her with), she has proven that she can write song after song that connects with the GP like no artist from the 21st Century. In 2015, Billboard declared 21 the greatest album of all time. You can disagree all you want, but the fact she's even in the conversation says all you need to know.
Beyoncé is the greatest performer of her generation and one of the greatest performers of all time. Whilst many attempt to bring her down for whatever reason, she has proven that her music transcends time and boundaries, with both her longevity and her increasing acclaim. Beyoncé is now widely regarded as one of the best vocalists of her generation, and no one in pop culture comes close to her power and stature within the music industry. She is the queen. She's not the queen of pop, nor the queen of R&B; she just is the queen. She's the queen of all queens. BEYONCÉ solidified her position as the most imaginative and daring pop artist of her generation.
There can be no doubt that Beyoncé and Adele will be remembered as the two greatest artists of this generation.
Peace and love for 2016 everyone.
