Here is my pet peeve for the day: When one refers to something in the negative - but is refering to more than two things - you have to say NONE.

Not "Neither."

NONE.

NONE.

Example: "Neither Kelly, Keri or Nicole will ever have a solo top ten hit" is not grammatically correct.

But this - "None of those three will ever see superstar solo success" is.

Got it? Good. I have seen this problem crop up one time too many.

I twitch when I read: there, their, and they're being used interchangeably or incorrectly.

Wait. If that's not proper grammar. When does one apply the "Neither Nor" rule?

If you're talking about two people or things - say, "I like neither Keri nor Nicole," then it's grammatically correct. That's when you apply that particular rule.

Anything more than two, and neither/either goes out the window.

Actually it would've been correct had whoever typed that replaced the "or" for a "nor"

When people don't use were instead of was when using both wish and if to refer to something that isn't true but rather contrary to fact.

Example: "If I was you", "I wish I was you".

It's so annoying.

Sis, put that period inside of the quotation mark. That's my second biggest pet peeve.
