Be honest: Do you know anything about the "older music"?
Example: Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Stevie Wonder, Elvis, The Beatles, Rod Stewart, Phill Collins, and the list goes on.
And I'm not talking about the "Oh yeah I know who Michael Jackson is: I love Thriller!" or "Yeah I love Madonna! 4 Minutes (2008) is my jam!!!" I'm talking about have you ever listened to their whole discography, know the names of all their albums, etc. I always see people here saying "How can you not know who [artist] is? S/he was a LEGEND back in the days" or when there is a (example) Lady GaGa vs. Elvis thread and Lady GaGa is winning, people will come out of no where and say "People who vote for GaGa obviously does not know what music is" ... Hmm, are you saying that to expand your music to make yourself look more knowledgeable, or do you really know what you're talking about?
Anyway, be honest: Do you know anything about the "older music"? (60s-80s)
I love Motown. Diana Ross and the Supremes, Temptations, The 5th Dimension, ABBA, Boston, Blue Oyster Cult, Herman's Hermits, Mama's and the Papa's, The Turtles>>>>>>>
Yes, I do. I don't claim to know anyone's entire discography, but I'm educated and have a sense of perspective about music from the 50/60s to now. And I know that's more than 99% of the people on this site can say.
Of course, I grew up listening to it from my parents.
My parents would listen to current music on the radio, so I basically grew up listening to music from the 90s - Mariah Carey, Savage Garden, Phil Collins, Shania Twain, Bryan Adams, Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, and of course, then I got into music, so Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, etc. I've listened to some songs from the 70s-80s, and there are a couple (1-3 songs) that I like, but majority of them no. Beatles, Bee Gees, Michael, Elvis, no thanks.

I like some old songs like "My Girl", "I'll Be There", "I Want You Back", let me post some videos...
Don't know the year of these songs, but these songs I like, but I would NEVER listen to them if I'm at home, going to work, etc. I only know it because my work would play old songs all the time. The only time I would listen to these old ass songs if I'm drunk with friends, etc.
