Chart Moves: 'The Voice' Coaches' Albums Gain
As we reported earlier, Jack White scored his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with the arrival of his first solo set, Blunderbuss, with 138,000 sold according to Nielsen SoundScan. It was one of four new entries in the top 10.
However, let's look at some of the movers and shakers farther down the this week's list:
-- Maroon 5, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera - iTunes discounted four albums by the four coaches of NBC's "The Voice," and all see big gains this week. (The retailer priced each set at $6.99 for a limited time.)
Maroon 5's Hands All Over zips 65-23 with a 128% jump, Blake Shelton's Red River Blue is up 94% (45-21) and Cee Lo Green's The Lady Killer re-enters at No. 117 (up 225%). While she missed the chart, Christina Aguilera's Bionic saw a smashing gain -- it was up by 802%. (It sold a little over 2,000 units -- a couple hundred units away from hitting the No. 200 position.)
