Yep I'm back again. Doing things a little earlier than I'd like due to the deadline, but that's ok. Luckily a band like Cage the Elephant will not be waiting until mid december this year. And if they do we can always change things later.

So all of these songs are from albums that are not on the best albums list. But they are still eligible for the songs list. Muse was #1 on both last year. Maybe a few surprises? Blink, Radiohead, Ariana and Tegan have all placed top 20 within the last two albums. I just wasn't feeling them as much this year. The #3 song on here was bumped into the now top 36 albums, so good for her (spoiler).There's alot of pop and hip-hop on here that doesn't need much explaining. I snuck "You're Welcome" on because I saw Moana yesterday and because you gotta list The Rock when possible. ATRL didn't even exist when Wycleff's "It Doesn't Matter" came out! "Panda" techinically does appear on Kanye's album, but I'm giving it the extra mention anyways. The toughest one to leave off was Highly Suspect.

Wait, you loved "Burn the Witch", which seemingly so few people who liked the new Radiohead album do. FORGET I SAID ANYTHING.

Bored To Death is good. Closer and Roses are amazing songs, should be part of the main list An amazing year for The Chainsmokers!

ASF, if both of those Chainsmokers song were on the same album they probably would have made the now top 38 into 39. Red, "Burn the Witch" is the only Moon song I do love. Those violins!!

Anyways I'm gonna try to knock out an update before football. The big one, the best Albums list. So like most years, I was thinking it was a down year in music before realizing "oh there actually was a bunch of good stuff." There's a few good storylines going, with Kanye trying to capture his first #1 and Metallica trying to become the all time greatest. I will say that, unlike most years, we have an absolutely dominant #1. Even Gwen Stefani would agree there's no doubt about it. But you came for the music, not silly puns. So let's get to it.

-So were kicking things off with the likely winner of Best Album at the Grammys. Those noms are total repug this year so hopefully something good comes out of it. Anyways Beyonce is last here for two reasons: I just listened to it yesterday and because Tidal is awful. Now it isn't really Beyonce's fault that Tidal sucks, but she kept it exclusive. Cmon girl, if youre so upset about Jay Z cheating on you then can't you cheat on him with Apple and Spotify? Lemonade is still pretty good, though I liked her last album more.

37. SaintMotelevision by Saint Motel



Favorite Song: "Move"

-Saint Motel are such a fun and upbeat band that they make the list even with this album, which isn't all that amazing. I only listed one favorite song after all. But again, even though nothing else sticks out as great like a "My Type" or "Cold Cold Man", nothing is bad either. And it will lift your mood guaranteed, for free!

36. All I Need by Foxes



Favorite Song: "Cruel"
Also: "Body Talk" , "Better Love" "Devil Side"

-This was the album that got bumped up from the close calls. It came out so early in the year that I had forgotten it had more than just "Cruel" on it. And while that is easily the best song, the others are fun too. I'm not a huge fan of music videos, but I love the one for "Body Talk" and almost posted it above Cruel. I definitely would have felt bad about leaving it off and am glad I came to my senses in time.

-Lil Wayne is only on about half of the songs but I'm giving him co-credit since his songs are mostly the best. Wayne hasn't been so hot since getting a top ten album back in 08. Prison changes folks I suppose. But this is kind of a rebound. And 2Chainz always brings the fun with his goofy lyrics.

-Country alert! I just listened to this yesterday as well so haven't had too much time to digest it. Was pretty impressed though. It's country, but country with a full orchestra. Not just a fiddle. And I'm usually not a big fan of cover songs, especially in movie trailers. Sturgill total kills it on his cover of Nirvana's "In Bloom". Realy turns it into his own thing instead of just aping the past. I respect that.

33. Big Baby DRAM by DRAM



Favorite Song: "Broccoli"
Also: "Cute" , "Cash Machine" , "Misunderstood"

-This was a bit of a surprise. Sure "Broccoli" is great, but you wouldn't expect it to last over an entire album. This is surprisingly soulful though. And even though he's not rapping, this album reminded me of Scarface. And Scarface is one of the best. I figured everyone had heard "Broccoli" , so I went with "Cute" , which should also be a big hit.

Six albums in and no rock! Well its coming, I promise. And more too!

Move is good! need to check out the album and the same with LEMONADE, still haven't listened to the album in full
