Lana's new album is out early and I've seen lots of comments around the forum calling the album "boring" or "sleep inducing" which I do happen to agree with even though y'all shall NOT deny the bop that is "Sad Girl". What do you think happened this time around with her music? And should Lana stay on this track or go back to the sound of BTD?

yes, incredibly so, but apparently the fascism of this forum means you cannot voice a negative opinion about ANYTHING so we must all agree that Ultraviolence is the best album of 2014 (which it most certainly is not).

Skip it if you don't like it. But stop doing the absolute most with these boring threads.

She doesn't make typical pop-sounding music. On this site I can see why it is getting called boring -- it just isn't what most people here want to listen to.

I, personally, love every single track. I think the tempo / sound suits her very very well and find it genuine.

I think BTD was boring- this album is more interesting to listen to.

No, I just expected a continuance of the BTD sound or something more upbeat which she's already proven that she's more than capable of doing.

She's been saying this album is NOTHING like BTD for the past 6 months, she even said it's almost unlistenable... idk why you were expecting that

I agree. I don't understand why this thread was even reported when I didn't bash her. It's an obvious opinion thread and nothing that I wrote in the OP is against forum rules. I'd like an honest discussion to happen between her fans and casual listeners that maybe had higher expectations for the project.

And no I didnt want a dance pop album, BTD was great, every song had personality and felt different.

Why can't people discuss this? The fact that this is already reported just makes Lana fans seem ridiculously pressedt that it isn't being well received...

I love Born To Die, a lot of people did. Not many people are liking UltraViolence. Negative opinions are still opinions and they should be allowed to be expressed by those who hold them.

It's far from boring. Maybe if all you listen to is upbeat Dr. Luke and Max Martin productions, but it's beautiful and well produced music.

Oh stop. The reaction to Ultraviolence has been overwhelmingly positive, and many are placing it above Born To Die.
