We know this already.
A better question to ask would have been what the public thinks about organic, low maintenance singers/artists and how they are viewed against highly conceptualized, image based artists like Gaga and what the merit is there. The real meat between this argument about Adele vs. Gaga is that they are completely different artists and they go for completely different things and it's worth arguing what makes them different and why one is perceived better than the other. I would have liked to hear her thoughts about that. It's clear Adele's image helped her she was not overly marketed as thin, overtly beautiful or model like but instead her figure was much along the lines of other regular "real" women and her voice was pure and not overtly digitalized. Adele's return to form music and scaled down torch songs lit something within the world. It's something that we haven't seen in years, arguably since the likes of Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill. It's worth asking why does Gaga think that happened and what does she think that means for her and her electronic music?
