«The Society» Episode 3: A Leader Emerges//Set Up Camp
The year is 3021.
What was once ATRL is now a virtual wasteland.
After the mass riots of 2089, which saw frustrated ATRL members rise up against the mods and constant promises of server upgrades, fighting ensued - resulting in lives lost, ATRL burning to the ground and this entire area falling into a period of inactivity.
Today, it's nothing but piles of rubble with those of us who survived wandering aimlessly searching for a place to belong.
That is...
until right now.
In the centre of the wreckage, a single stone slab appeared over night.
Etched into the stone, a simple invitation.
Join...The Society.
About The Game:
Looking for more information? There's not much - and that's the point. As far as I know, not many games like this have happened on ATRL, so I'm purposefully being vague. It's the mystery of it all...and it's all really an experiment of sorts. What you can know is this concept is loosely inspired by shows like "Utopia", those who take part will be working together (or not!) to create their own society from the ground up. This will involve electing a leader(s), making decisions about how the society will be structured and function, completing small tasks and challenges each week that will either help our hurt your society, and more. A lot of the direction the game takes is actually up to you guys, as you will be voting to decide which path your new society should pursue. A bit like a Choose Your Own Adventure book in that sense.
In the end, will the Society thrive or crumble? And will you still be around when that happens, or will The Society deem you unfit for their needs and banish you? Time will tell...
I'll say this - it def won't be a huge time commitment. Those who know me/my games know that I'm not the type who spends 24/7 on ATRL and I structure my games accordingly. Whenever there is any sort of "deadline" on a task, it will be at least 2 or 3 days to make sure everyone has time to see it.
