-‘Material Girls’ is shallow nonsense
-Nonsensical 'Material Girls' is a silly bit of fluff
-The irony, of course, is that this movie will be most at home at Target, in one of those bargain-priced DVD bins.
-At least the clothes are fun. That's the best thing we can say about "Material Girls."
-Even the jaunty music accompanying all the girls' pratfalls and misadventures can't convince us that we're supposed to be amused.
-Paris and Nicky Hilton exhibit more character nuance. And they're vaguely more entertaining to watch.
-The one thing they can't seem to do is generate any laughter.
-Save your allowance, kids--a mall trip would be way more fun than this ditzy Duff fluff.
-Hilary and Haylie Duff teach their fans and everyone else that it’s okay to be self-absorbed as long as you have some skills to rely on, and the skill doesn’t even have to be acting. It certainly isn’t here.
