If guys like "girl music"....
Just a question I was pondering over.
If guys like so-called "girl music", such as Rihanna, Katy Perry, Mariah, Shakira, Britney, etc...
does it automatically make them gay?
I was wondering because I have a male friend who is a hardcore fan (or stan, I should say) of Rihanna, and he insists he's straight; yet his friends keep saying he's gay. [Im pretty sure he's straight though...]
If you stan for female artists and you're male, does it automatically make you gay?
I don't understand how it can, but it seems that society thinks so.
I disagree with the assumption, but unfortunately it seems like a lot of people out there do

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..........
I would say that the odds of them being gay increase by about 500%.

No. This is so ignorant statement. And people may like different type of music - so if we are following this false logic, one can be hetero, bi and homo at the same time.

Nahh, I'm straight and obviously I stan for Taylor and I love a lot of "girl music' and all of my friends know about it but none of them ever call me gay for it or anything.
Though then again, that might also be because I say stuff like "*Insert hot chick here* is soooo hawt" constantly.
A lot of my guy friends make fun of me for it and how it's "girly" though. It's not like bullying or anything, but there are some that constantly give me **** about it. It's a stupid way of thinking and I hate it. Well, unless there's a guy who's a big fan of Bieber or something, because that's just extremely gay and too gay for me to even defend.

What the hell? If a girl likes "boy music" does that make her a lesbian?
Sexuality does not ALWAYS affect what you like and it is so wrong looking at it that way

Yep, when I feel like sucking dick I listen to Madonna or Mariah.
When I wanna be straight I put on some rock music.
Life is so easy.

Okay, now. See, no. Just no. No no no no no no no no no. No no no. Nope. Nope no. No no no no. Nope no no no. No No No no. Nope. No NO. NO.
I think it's unreasonable to say "It's not gay for me to stan for Taylor who has songs like "Dear John" and "Love Story" but it is gay for someone to stan for Justin Bieber." Does he not sing about the same stuff, basically as Taylor, heck, I think it'd be less weird for a guy to sing "Baby, Baby, Baby" than it would for a guy to sing "Romeo take me somewhere we can be alone." I'm not attacking you either, because you shared your opinion quite nicely, I just don't understand that.
So, when I say it's a little fishy for a guy to be a hardcore fan of female pop singers, it's because it is. I'm not saying he's automatically gay. What I am saying is that I wouldn't be surprised if a guy with those interests was gay. Because normally, female pop singers cater towards girls/gay people.

I know a lot straight guys who love to listen to Rihanna.
But I don't know what to think about guys who listen to Lady Gaga 24/7....

It's hard for people to take me serious when I stan for Britney Spears >_>.
But society sucks.

Yeah, sorry, I agree, I should've reworded that. I don't really think there is a "too gay" for music for guys to like. I just hate Bieber's music so much that I can hardly stand it when girls I'm friends with are fans of him, let alone guys(though I've never met any guys that liked him).

I don't know whether to say yes or no.
I think when there is that 1 female singer a guy stans for, then I don't think it does. At school, I stan for Rihanna, and that is the only person I am known to stan for. But I always hide my iPod from people at school because once they see that I have GaGa, Britney, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, Jessie J, Ke$ha etc, then it gets suspicious.
But I do think that my music mentioned above indicates that I'm gay. But the rest of my music is Hip-Hop and R&B, such as Eminem, Kanye, Usher etc. So pretty much I have "bi" music, I guess. Which is accurate enough. I don't think people should really worry about what music other people have though. I think someone should focus on the music that they listen to, and not worry about what music everyone else has.

A guy stanning (the definition of the word is being an overzealous over-obsessed fan that follows their fave to no end) for a female artist can easily be explained as a product of infatuation.
To put it into perspective, a guy unhealthily obsessing for a male artist would seem to be exponentially gayer.

Hahah, no you're fine!! I could've worded my first post in this thread way better hahah. But I get what you're saying. And I've never met a guy who's been a fan either hahah.
I just think my overall point is that no, the music someone listens to does not determine anything about that person outside of their musical taste.
