So, my question is ...
Will
become mainstream and blow up in a pop girl-esque fashion?
Will
have longevity?
Will
have impacT?
Will
be iconic?
Or is
already all of these?

I think its becoming more relevant again, but sometimes interesting smilies that are not that popular and come back into resurgence like
can have small comebacks on a good day/occasion/time period
