Actually, no. Cheap Windows tablets in the $100 range have been proven to run as relatively smooth as their premium counterparts. I have a $100 Windows Tablet, and a $400 Windows Tablet, and let me tell you, putting aside the hardware restrictions on the cheaper one, the overall experience has been smooth. Can't say the same about an Android tablet with 1GB RAM though.
