Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.
In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Deadline: Ali Larter is set to reprise as Claire Redfield in the final chapter of the Screen Gems post-apocalyptic franchise Resident Evil, with Paul W.S. Anderson back to direct a script he wrote. Constantin Film’s Robert Kulzer, Impact Pictures’ Jeremy Bolt, Davis-Films’ Samuel Hadida, and Anderson are producing and Martin Moszkowicz serving as executive producer. The film starts shooting this September in South Africa.

British stuntwoman Olivia Jackson has been seriously injured while filming a stunt in South Africa for the latest installment of the Resident Evil franchise. According to the latest reports, she’s been placed in a medically induced coma with head injuries and a punctured lung. Jackson, 32, was riding a motorcycle at high speed when she crashed into a piece of camera equipment that was filming the chase scene on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, starring Milla Jovovich

So this intrepid dork/nerd/blogger managed to find himself on the set of the latest Resident Evil: The Final chapter movie set. Being shot right here in South Africa both in Capetown and in Pretoria near Hartbeespoort dam. Don’t ask how I ended up on the abandoned stretch of highway as it is a very long story, but I did manage to snap a few pictures before I was threatened with arrest by security guards. Who also wanted to remove my phone from my possession. Looks like they were using the stretch of highway to film an abandoned highway scene we get to see so often in zombie movies.

That bests the recent start of Rogue One and is the highest-ever debut for a Resident Evil movie in Japan (+112% over Retribution/+110% over Afterlife). The franchise typically overindexes there, particularly thanks to Japan being the IP’s provenance. This is the top market on each of the previous installments. Further rollout begins January 25 in Korea.
