Who is the audience for this cover? Kim's fans can read about her in the tabloids on a weekly basis and see her near-daily selfies on instagram. Are they going to run out and pay 5 bucks for Vogue to see her again? Are Kanye West fan's really checking for Vogue? I can see a lot of people who'd normally buy Vogue passing on this issue out of protest.
The prestige is now gone. No one can ever again argue that [insert celebrity here] doesn't deserve a Vogue cover. The bar has been permanently lowered with Kim. If she can get a cover then pretty much anyone should get one.

I doubt the sales will be a huge disappointment, but it will be interesting to see how it does.
And the last part especially, it's just game over now. In the past Vogue always upheld the standard, even with putting Trump wives on the cover, it never went where Elle or Bazaar did with other reality tv stars, but now they have, and you do lose the right to call yourself a style authority when this is what you are selling - Kim Kardashian in a white wedding gown!
