Beyoncé for me. It came out of nowhere and she thought it was going to backfire and blow up in her face... but it didn't... all after ATRL dragged her for 4 and swore she was scared to release
1989 since it didn't use any gimmicks to inflate sales. People are buying because they listened to the first singles and liked them, not because they got caught up in internet hype.
Taylor did over 30 tv promos and radio interviews. And Subway, Diet Coke and Target all have ads featuring her album on every tv channel. Let's not even talk about the 2 months of preorder. 1989 is impressive but BEYONCÉ is still more impressive
We have to remember that Bey's was also only available digitally at one retailer, iTunes. And Bey's sales history has always been a higher % of physical sales...
