That's a curiously little documentary. It starts with Moore saying "When you really like a singer or a celebrity, you just like everything about them," but then he never actually says what it is he likes about Katy Perry. The film's focus is entirely on quantifying Moore's obsession—counting the objects—but doesn't ask any interesting questions. Why is Moore obsessed with Perry? What does he think she's like? Why does he find her admirable? What does she symbolise? What kind of relationship does he wish he had with her? What relief does his obsession with an American pop starlet give him from his daily trials as a sixteen-year-old gay boy in the suburbs of England?
I thought the same thing when I saw this video.
Almost made me want to log off ATRL for good.
But then I looked around and didn't see a room full of Rihanna, so I think I'm fine.
