Forensic scientist Barry Allen is caught in a freak accident, which gives him the ability to move at superhuman speeds
After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only "meta-human" who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion -- and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won't be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become...The Flash.

CW has set the premiere dates for their fall slate of shows
Quote:
The most buzzed-about new series of the season, THE FLASH, starring Grant Gustin as the Fastest Man Alive, premieres Tuesday, October 7 (8:00-9:00pm ET), followed by the return of the Winchester brothers in the tenth season premiere of SUPERNATURAL(9:00-10:00pm ET).
Death @ the pilot leaking over 3 months before the premiere. Though, i'm sure It's the studio deliberately trying to get some attention for the show by allowing a pre-release version to hit the market. Happens a lot these days.
Anyway, It was pretty good , I really enjoyed it, some drab parts that looked crap but id give it 8/10 it has great potential. Cant wait for the full series in October.
Robbie Amell and Wenworth Miller have been cast as one half of Firestorm and villain Captain Cold respectively.

Not only is The CW expanding their DC comic based shows with “The Flash” and “iZombie” this year, but they’re doubling down on the Amell family as TVLine reports that Robbie Amell (cousin to Oliver Queen himself, Stephen Amell) has been cast as Ronnie Raymond for “The Flash.” Raymond will serve as a S.T.A.R. Labs maintenance worker who is engaged to Danielle Panabaker’s Caitlin Snow and reportedly plays an integral part in the accident that gives Barry Allen his powers.
In the source material, Ronnie Raymond is one half of the superhero Firestorm, who he becomes upon fusing together with his partner. The character has some of the most complex and unique powers in the DCU as he’s capable of transforming matter into other elements in addition to superhuman strength and flight. It’s unclear if he’ll take on the role of Firestorm in the series, though the irony of him being engaged to Caitlin Snow (the future Killer Frost) is a nice touch.
"The Flash" will have a familiar foe to face in the fourth episode of his upcoming series on The CW. It was revealed today that "Prison Break" star (and Stoker scribe) Wenworth Miller will play Leonard Snart, the man who becomes the Captain Cold, beginning in the fourth episode of the new series.
First appearing in 1957's "Showcase" #8, "The Man who Mastered Absolute Zero" was raised by an abusive father and turned to a life of crime, inventing high-powered freeze rays that uses in his ongoing conflicts with the heroes of the DC Universe.
