'I don't plan on taking a long time or hiatus from music after this tour," the multi-platinum R&B singer told Billboard.com in advance his worldwide OMG trek, which kicks off Nov. 10 in Seattle and runs through late March of 2011. "I do plan on coming right back. I don't know exactly what type of musical experience it will be, but I'll be right back with another musical experience to keep it alive."

YRB: I’m sure you’ve been putting in work with a lot of artists. Where are we going to see your name pop up in the credits in 2011?
Rico: Everywhere. I have all the releases before 2011. Diddy-Dirty Money's Last Train to Paris, Jamie Foxx's Best Night of My Life, Keri Hilson's No Boys Allowed... Just to be involved in all of these projects that's coming out at the top of the year. We got Mario, Pleasure P, another Usher album dropping this year, Divison 1 launching, Young Chris' album coming out this year, and I'm trying to get Cherlise's album out this year. Not to mention the Kelly Rowland album, another Nelly album… Just staying busy and working on everything.
YRB: Another Nelly and Usher album?
Rico: I just started doing records for Usher and Nelly, so we really haven't gone in the studio and come up with anything. I've just been working on songs. I played a few for Usher that he loves. I just don't want to stop. I want to keep it going and continue to keep that momentum. Another thousand kids are gunning for my spot right now, so I'm not going to give it to them.
YRB: What kind of stuff are you cooking up for Usher?
Rico: I just feel like Usher has a classic sound and music that doesn't age. So it's not about really… It doesn't matter if his music came out this year or 10 years from now. Same thing with “U Got It Bad,” same thing with “You Make Me Wanna.” I just want to make sure we can keep that classic sound. Some artists like Nelly and Usher and Diddy, they have a classic sound. You have to stick to it.

Jim Jones Talks working on Usher's album in June
Quote:
Us: Besides Idol, I know you have a lot of other projects that you're working on for a lot of mainstream artists, one of them being Beyonce. Can you tell me about some of the stuff that you're cooking up for her next album?
JJ: We worked on some ideas but we haven't gotten a chance to get in with her and I'm really dying to do that. I think in the coming months we may be able to get in there soon, but Idol has had me tied up and I think she's been really busy as well. I'm also really excited to get in with Usher again the second week of June
Many artists repeat themselves or stop growing. Have you found a way to avoid that trap?
Absolutely. It's called living life. Artists have our past. We broke barriers and did things musically. With this album I was able to do that. Some things have changed for the better. It has been a while since I've toured at this capacity, but it's just in time for a new experience for me. Every album represents that movement. Hopefully there'll be an evolution of my artistry. Judging from the sales and the fact we're having a second (U.S.) run, it's obviously going in the right direction. I started my next album and am geared up for the next who knows what of work. I wanted to close with a big bang.

With your success, so many people are willing to write, produce and work with you in some way. Is it hard to focus on a musical direction?
It's not about a specific producer or writer. It's the mission of really introducing a new genre of music. ... As I listen to the music, formats change from year in to year out. Not so many years ago everything had an essence of pop. A few years later, turn on the radio and everything has an urban essence. Turn on the radio a few years later and everything is R&B to the point where rappers were singing. Now music is changing once again, and the genre is called Rev (Usher has also referred to his upcoming sound as "Rev Pop"). That's what I've been focusing on.
“I’ve been talkin ad given him some advice on how to stay grounded. “He told me to remember that family is very, very important. They help you recharge.”

Lately, Rico has been back in the studio with Usher. In 2007, he was signed to the singer's former US Records via J Records. But his debut album was never released, and he and Usher went their separate ways.
But as Rico become a songwriting force, the two eventually started working together again. The first song they recorded was the Grammy-winning "There Goes My Baby" from 2010's Raymond v. Raymond. Now, Rico is working on Usher's forthcoming album and embracing the pressure of surpassing its predecessor's platinum sales and critical success.
"I feel like this is what separates the boys from the men," Rico said of working with Usher. "This week, we been creating records together. We had two mics, two headphones set up in the booth, and we just sit there and vibe out.
"These first few days have been amazing. We got four records cut so far that sound super amazing. I'm super excited about it. I'm just anxious for the world to hear it."

The singer-songwriter Robin Thicke is currently in New York working on Usher’s new album. Thicke took to his Twitter account to broadcast the news of him working on the R&B singer’s upcoming album. Let’s see what magic they will create.
I hope he goes back to 'Confessions' and not generic trashy OMG/DJ Got Us.
I can't understand why people reduce RvR to OMG & Dj. He released 5 other singles from this album and they were sucessful urban singles and he even won a grammy for TGMB(Papers,Hey Daddy, Lil Freak TGMB,Hot Tottie).
He's getting greedy/increasingly desperate. He's too talented to be rush releasing uneven albums and pop by-the-numbers just to keep his name out there. Take some time and develop your sound, Usher.

Well if you want to reduce an album to 3 songs...and I'm sur that Ush knows what he is doing he is doing this since 1992...it's his 7th album

My point was that songs like "DJ" and "OMG" felt tacked on and didn't fit well with the overall sound of Raymond v. Raymond. Overall, many of the songs on that album felt half-baked anyways and the fact that the album wasn't exactly a runaway hit further proves my point.
I hope this era goes well for him. RvR had so much leaks, mismanaged singles, etc.
!!!
It should have been:
OMG
There Goes My Baby
Guilty
Lil Freak
Re-release:
Hot Tottie
DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love
It could have been another mega-successful era for him.
They released "Papers" without a ****ing video and expected it blow up. "Hot Tottie" was so wasted and you do not waste once-in-a-lifetime collaborations like that. I won't even get into how they ****ed up the release of "Lil Freak," which could have been massive.
You were talking about his POP singles. But just so you know he released 5 urban singles as well: Papers (#1 R&B charts), There Goes My Baby (#1 R&B Charts), Hey Daddy ( #2 R&B charts), Hot Tottie & Lil Freak (top 10 R&B Charts).
From Bey to Chris everybody is releasing an urban and a pop single...but you don't want Usher to do the same. This is hypocrite in my opinion.
And his album was produced by the Avila Brother, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Polow Da Don, and Jermaine Dupri. They are R&B producers. This is why he won a grammy for this album.
If you didn't listened to the album I can understand your point cause he most successful singles were the pop one. But if you did...
