Sixth YECD already, and I ask where the hell all my teenage years have gone A few days ago I was remembering so many things from 2009 and the times I got my first job, which was later on the reason why I joined here, and it's been five years since then. Well, enough with nostalgia. We'll have time for that later on.
Welcome you all to Charlie's Best of 2014. I salute you from a beach hotel far away from Lima downtown. I'm staying for six nights here, and it's awesome to be part of this end-of-the-year craze while I am on my vacation period. Gives me all the time to listen to a bunch of cool stuff in order to catch up with this year's music.
This year has been marked by some personal issues, and music-wise factors that haven't let me enjoy new music a lot. In addition, I've committed myself to reading way more than ever, and I've found plenty of books which have let me carry on with that beautiful hobby with a lot of passion. Due to those many factors, you can understand I've struggled with updating my weekly countdown way more than in 2013. However, I'm so close to celebrating the 500th edition of my weekly c/d, and I've encountered so many new great albums and music styles this year that I feel quite happy with the final best songs of 2014 I'll present you soon.
This YECD features six main countdowns + a Charlie's Top 20 special countdown
Flashback Top 20 of 2006/07/08/09/10/11/12/13
Top 20 albums + close calls
Top 100 frustrated songs of 2014 (200-101 songs)
Top 100 songs of 2014
Can't wait to see your lists as well. Are you guys ready?
Yo,Charlie! Long time no see. Glad one of my favorite members is doing this Year-End. Oh! Hot Wheels. I used to play with those when I was a kid. Fun times. Gah, so old we are. Time goes fast that us 2009 members are considered veterans around ATRL. I'm 20 and in college. Man, it's crazy. It's weird thinking about when I first joined ATRL, being a newbie and all while a Freshman in high school. You're in a beach hotel? Cool! Well, it's good to see you're alright. I do miss your countdown, but at least I can look forward to this Year-end. I wonder where artists like Real Estate and Bad Suns will landed. I see that you're are doing a half-end countdown of the 10s. Nice. Can't wait for everything.
