Whos Career Is Thriving More? Justin vs Selena
Arguments for Selena:
-Spring Breakers sells $100K in 3 theatres, destined to smash.
-Last single did poorly.
-A lot of her relevance comes from being Justin's ex-girlfriend.
-Harper Bazaar and Elle cover.
-Album did poorly.
-Tour grossed $27,000,000.
-Hotel Transylvania massive success, $300,000,000 gross.
-3 big projects coming up: Aftershock, Behaving Badly and Getaway.
Arguments for Justin:
-Falling apart, media and GP hate him.
-Many controversies.
-Last two singles underperformed.
-Album underperformed compared to other ones.
-Tour grossed $54,000,000 so far and 5 more months left.
-2 successful singles this era.
-Forbes magazine cover.

They're both doing good I guess when it comes to careers aside from Justin's show not selling out recently. As far as Selena goes, her career is doing great,she has endorsements,her clothing line,nail polish,perfume,magazine covers, a new album coming,a world tour, 4 new movies coming out (counting her "Aftershock" cameo) and is getting offered more roles as we speak so, I'd say she's doing just fine. Selena!

Justin is not thriving 
I would say Selena is thriving in the music world (kinda).. but then again, she is a
Disney artist and she is really successful there.

Justin's not doing anything besides touring so you can't really compare them. However, it's still Justin because no matter what he does he still gets more press/attention.

Not to start a debate or anything but, majority of the press he has been getting is bad unfortunately. It's moreso about whose career is thriving, and going somewhere farther at the moment not really who's more known or talked about. What does Justin have lined up for when his tour is over?

I'm not trying to argue at all  Press is press and Justin is the biggest star overall so his career is doing better at any given point. He's probably gonna get some downtime after the tour is over because he had a really busy year. What we know for sure is that he's shooting a basketball movie with Mark Wahlberg in late 2013/early 2014.

I heard about the basketball movie a lot of times in his interviews so, yeah there's that. Selena just has more going on for her though, so yeah.

Oh I don't disagree that she has a lot going on. My point is that Justin is one of the biggest stars in the world so by default his career is doing better than hers. She's doing great for ex-Disney standards but it's still not comparable to Justin.

Well, in terms of how it looks to the GP then yeah. I'm just talking longevity. Not saying that Justin won't last long because I still see him being successful in the future but this question is mainly just about who's going somewhere at the moment (I take it) and when you compare what Selena is doing to what he has going on (I understand he's on tour) and has lined up, her resume would look a bit more, guaranteed for lack of a better word.

Not really though? From what I've seen she's only doing a lot of promo during March/April and then when her album is out she's gonna tour too so she'll be where Justin is now. Justin's just not promoting anything right now unlike her. As for longevity I think he's doing pretty great and won't have to worry about it. Also, Justin just recently released an acoustic album and hosted SNL so there's that.
