We shouldn't counting touring, it wasn't much of a factor until the very late 00's.

Avril wins in albums
Gaga wins in singles
Avril had more impact
Gaga was a bigger touring act
They are about even, but I'll say Avril cause touring wasn't big during her successful years, so it can't be properly compared.
