It was their only studio album not to top the Official Albums Chart, but it looks like Coldplay's luck is about to change, as A Head Full Of Dreams leads the way in the race to Number 1.
Thwarted by Adele's mega-selling 25 on its original release in December 2015, A Head Full Of Dreams zooms back up the chart, almost 8,000 combined sales ahead of its nearest rival, to take the top spot at this midway stage.
David Bowie's hits retrospective Best Of Bowie slips a place to Number 2, while Elton John is on track for a 31st Top 10 album – Wonderful Crazy Night is new at 3.
Two non-movers round off the Top 5, with Adele's 25 (4) and Justin Bieber's Purpose (5) both holding steady.
Foxes is in with a chance of a second UK Top 10 album – All I Need, the follow-up to her 2014 debut Glorious, starts at 9.
Danish band Lukas Graham could claim this week’s Number 1 single with their latest single 7 Years.
The soul-pop quartet’s debut UK release has pushed last week’s chart-topper - Zayn’s Pillowtalk – down to Number 2 on today’s Official Chart Update and currently leads the pack by 5,000 combined sales.
Lukas Graham’s 7 Years has already proved a huge success across Europe, hitting Number 1 in Sweden, Austria and their homeland Denmark. The track has been charging up the UK Top 40 since its release last month, entering at Number 24 and climbing to Number 6 last week.
Meanwhile, making up the rest of today’s Chart Update Top 5 are Jonas Blue’s Fast Car (3), Shawn Mendes’ Stitches (4) and Rihanna’s Work (5).
No mention of Anti, wonder if its fallen out of the top 10?
The OfficialCharts website is about to post the full Top 100 update in literally three minutes, but it was #9 according to MintRoyale (verified UK chart sales guy) on Saturday.
