I've seen people ruin their lives and end their lives through addiction, decay and abusive relationships as well, not to the same extent perhaps but enough that it does upset me and make me angry to see however I also know that for people who haven't personally seen it, it is easy to romanticize, we have all seen someone trying to be Effy from skins, that perpetuates the same idea the 'it's beautiful to be broken' idea, I can see why people think that even if I personally disagree, therefore I still think this is unjustified and insensitive.
I get exactly where she is coming from but the wording is terrible.
It'll create buzz for the book though.
