80. MAGIC! - Rude
This reggae inspired summer jam was my bop from winter into the summer this year. While it was quite overplayed at its peak, it still slays me on the occasional listen.
79. Jess Glynne - Right Here
Jess Glynne's debut solo single after the huge Rather Be served me soul mixed with the ever popular UK house teas. She reminds me of a new Katy B.
78. RuPaul - Sissy That Walk
Born Naked was a hit album for me this year. Sissy That Walk was one of the highlights of the album, featuring Ru's typical cheesy dance-pop and a fabulous breakdown, it was an easy addiction for me this year.
77. Phantogram - Fall In Love
Fall In Love was a song that epitomized cool. It sounded completely fresh and original when it first debuted and grew on me throughout the spring of this year. The mix of strings, electronics, and indie styles made this phenomenal.
76. Lana Del Rey - West Coast (Radio Mix)
West Coast had an exceptional messy release, with this version only showing up after two other versions debuted. The original song was great, but disjointed in my opinion. This radio mix kept her alternative approach to her style, but was a lot easier to listen to and joined both tempos from the first version into one amazing song. Too bad this never did anything.
I'm glad everyone is enjoying the beginnings of the countdown!
Also, there is one more RuPaul song on the list
Anyway, on to the next five!
75. Sia - Burn the Pages
A very nice, upbeat song from Sia. One of my favorites on her album. I love not understanding a word she's saying, and the chorus is so perky and fun.
74. Lorde - Yellow Flicker Beat
While not fully capturing the essence she had from the first album, I like this newer direction from her - more forceful and more energy while keeping her odd alternative energy. Mockingjay Part 1's soundtrack was a great collection of music, with this being the best of the bunch.
73. Jack Ü ft. Kiesza - Take Ü There
A dream collaboration of sorts, the nu-90s house goddess Kiesza with two outstanding producers. The end product was this amazing dance song, that took me off guard the first time I heard it but easily grew on me.
72. Ingrid Michaelson - Girls Chase Boys
A quirky song with a quirky music video. I have not really enjoyed Ingrid Michaelson from her first album up until this release. But with this single and her album, she won me back.
71. Wankelmut, Emma Louise - My Head Is A Jungle (MK Remix)
This music video serves me The Firm / Kelly Kapowski realness. The remix did a great job of keeping the vibe of the original song. My laundromat song for the year.
