(I think this goes on Base? If not, feel free to move it to The Lounge)
I'm sure everyone labels things in their iTunes different (radio edits, remixes, acoustics, etc) What are some ways you organize your iTunes? Here are some questions to think about
How organized is your itunes? How do you label certain songs when it comes to remixes, acoustic versions of songs, live versions, etc.? What quality music do you prefer? Do you put label Remixes into the correct EP's in which they appear from, or do you just have a whole album name called Remixes? If so, tell us anything you can think about when it comes to Itunes.
Here are some things I do
- I find it messy when people add (bonus track) next to the song title, like... Muny (Bonus Track). It looks odd to have it like that to me
- I label acoustic songs as (Acoustic) not (Acoustic Version)
- I don't like getting remixes labeled as "Dubs", I've never been a fan of them
- I never focus on the genre tab in iTunes/ Would take too long to go through all my songs and think "hmm..what genre is this.."
VERY, all of the correct (or preferred) cover artworks are there, I label songs that my faves release for free as ____ - single (example: Trophies - Single), all EPs are listed under the album section as __ - EP after the title and all of the genres, years & track numbers are listed correctly
Very organized. I rarely download singles. I acquire the entire albums and make sure they have appropriate album art in high quality and generally tag things with genres as well.
its immaculate if i do say so myself. keeping my play counts accurate is the most important thing to me. i do in fact keep the genre column updated too.. i make sure obvi all albums have pics. as for unreleased songs i typically add them to the album they correspond to (like Standing On the Sun to BEYONCE and Dramatic to Blackout) except for Gaga because she has so many unreleased so i have two seperate "Unrelease Collection" albums (vol 1 & 2)
Every album is organized, demos are organized into demo albums, unreleased are organized into volumes, and each album has its own cover. If I don't like a full album and delete songs of them, then I'll make the album into my own little EP.

same here, so let's say i bought BTW single version (and judas) before the album came out, i go back and put them together with the album once the album comes out

Yup.
Also, everything in my library has to be one of the following formats: ALAC, MP3 V0, MP3 320, or AAC 256. The latter three must be from a lossless source.
