We all know how there is a king and queen of pop.

(Apparently) Michael is the king, and Madonna is the queen. In the eyes of the general public, Michael has always been the king. But every day their's some new article or magazine cover about Queen Spears, Rihanna, Beyonce, Katy, Gaga etc. being the new queen.

My question is, why is their a new queen of pop every day, why is she so easy to replace, while the king will always be the king?

I will always feel that Madonna is queen, it just seems in the GP their's always a new one.

If there's a worthy contender, yes.

It just so happens that no-one worthy of taking Michael's crown has appeared yet, so he's the undisputed King of Pop.

Madonna cant be replaced... I mean, her album tanked and her tour is still sh*tting on every other girl

People announce 'new' kings of pop too (Usher, for example) but it doesn't really mean anything as the public recognizes Madonna and Michael as the queen and king.

No, Madonna and Michael will always be known as the king and queen of pop. That can't be changed. We'll just come up with new titles for the other popstars.

From an unbiased perspective, Gaga's the only one to take the new Queen of Pop title. Britney was almost there, but she lost her luster before she reached that status. Rihanna and Katy are strictly chart fiends, and Beyonce is more R&B. If Gaga's next albums reach success at least that of Born This Way's, she'll be there in no-time.

Madonna & Michael will always be the King & Queen of pop. Titles they rightfully earned.

Seriously, Madonna gives me chills with her current performances. It takes a lot for a current star to produce any kind of wonder and awe in me. Madonna will forever be the queen.

I won't drag you since it will be off topic, But I will say this. Album success is not the only thing that can make you the queen of pop. Evolving each era, going through triumphs, and coming back and slaying each era, still having those dedicating fans and more are what it takes.
