It was the best one, 4 and 3 are soooo much better then the first 2. Though I know people say the opposite, and I can see why. It depends what you want out of a Harry Potter movie. I don't care about things left out, or that it should be light and fun.

I'm not surprised by that, tons of people loved this one and it wa a real credit to the series. I don't agree with that reasoning personally though Simple Vanity - 1 & 4 are my favourites and I was ok with 2 and disliked 3. Number 2 was like a generic hollywood blockbuster and 3 was nonsensical and didn't follow any logical pattern for the non-reader. 1 had great atmosphere which brought in the whole new sets of fans young anf old and 4 lived up to that because it had depth and accuracy with only decent adaptation from the book even though a few things were changed. It so much about how things are left out or changed, it's how that's done and if it works or is believeable and still does justice to the source.

I totally agree here, but I am among those who believes 3 is better than 4, movie wise. I wasn't completely overwhelmed by GOF like I was POA. But after seeing it a second time, I have a new-found appreciation for Goblet and I can see why people DO like it more than any of the other movies in the series.
