I would imagine all stores have 'street dates' for particular items and when they can be stocked on to the floor. I know that is how it is at the store I work at and to put them out ahead of their street date is a big no no.
In fact, I don't even think you can buy the items before their release date even if they are on the floor. You should get an error at the registers or something like that. That is what all stores need to have tbh. Not sure why it isn't like that everywhere.
If it is anyone's fault, it isn't necessarily Urban Outfitters as a whole company but their employees. I doubt her label is at fault lol. This is also why we have one person who puts the CDs/entertainment items on to the floor on their release date. It saves so much trouble bc the person doing them 100% is aware of what items need to be on the floor.
