Nothing is corrupted about this, there's a threshold that a party is supposed to meet in order to be considered relevant enough for receiving a local or national platform. Third parties simply haven't met that threshold yet nor will they if they continue to nominate whiny out-of-touch idealists at the top of their ticket every four years instead of constructing a grassroots movement from the bottom up.
Removing the threshold would create a slippery slope and allow even more radicalized parties like the Communist/Socialist parties, the Constitutional party, etc. to have influence and engage in a political atmosphere that they don't deserve to have.
The two major parties actually worked their way up through a robust movement of, for, and by the people. Stop conspiring about there being some evil masterminds trying to brainwash the public into thinking that there are only two parties. The truth is, there really are only two viable parties.
