Discussion: Why is there a fan feud between Britney and Beyoncé fans?

Both women are on good terms with each other, did a pepsi commercial with each other in 2003. Both have said good things about each other, so why the feud? how did it start?

There are stan wars between everybody. Rihanna and Beyonce both rep Roc nation and there are huge stanwars between the two.

But I do think fans of R&B/rich vocals and pop/light vocals tend to clash more.

I don't need the WP's, so I'm just getting perch after saying this.
Beyoncé is one of the most acclaimed, respected and talented women in the industry and that gives me reason enough to stan for her.
I don't see much of those factors in Britney and both the Army and the Hive are very aware of that.

Rivalries are common when two or more artists are competing at the same time. Britney and Beyoncé are from the same generation. Just like Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Katy are always compared now, Britney and Beyoncé along with Christina, Avril and P!nk are usually lumped together. It's all relative to time really.

They both rose to prominence around the same time and both have maintained success/relevance over the years, unlike all the other girls who debuted in that time frame.

Because Beyoncé fans think Britney is untalented and Beyoncé is perfect. Simple as that. It's not just the Britney stans, they're mad at everyone who doesn't like Bey and they think everyone is beneath her it's like.... where is all this heat coming from? They take stanning too seriously and they're always the ones starting mess. Though both sides can be immature at times, the Hive's abrasiveness has distant both bases further apart and it has nothing to do with music or the singers themselves, it's just angry stans.

I don't think there's a feud... Fans just sometimes pick other pop girl and compare both which results in ugly battles full of insults etc. Like recently the Katy vs Gaga threads

Beyonce stans want her to have what Britney has (hits, impact, iconography).
Britney stans want her to have what Beyonce has (talent, respect, acclaim).
