'House of Bodies' in motion
Latifah, Howard, Fonda start production on indie thriller
Queen Latifah, Terrence Howard, Peter Fonda and Alexz Johnson are set to star in the indie thriller "House of Bodies," which Alex Merkin ("Across the Hall") will direct from a script by Eddie Harris.
Pic is just starting production at Latifah and Shakim Compere's Miami-based Flavor Unit Studios.
Story follows Kyle, a deaf child who enjoys chatting online with Nicole (Latifah), a relay operator at a telephone service for the hearing-impaired. Kyle's fascination with the macabre leads him to explore the House of Bodies, a voyeur website based out of the former home of serial killer Henry Lee Bishop (Fonda), now on death row. When police discover a string of grisly copycat murders, a detective (Howard) must race to uncover the mystery.
Compere produces the pic, while Latifah exec produces with Otis Best, Yaneley Arty and Shelby Stone.
Latifah, who recently starred opposite Dolly Parton in "Joyful Noise," just signed on to topline Lifetime's "Steel Magnolias" remake.
Howard recently starred in "Red Tails" and just wrapped Robert Redford's political thriller "The Company You Keep." Thesp will soon be seen in Walter Salles' adaptation of "On the Road."
Fonda co-stars alongside Claire Danes and James Marsden in the upcoming indie dramedy "As Cool as I Am."
Latifah is repped by WME and attorney Stewart Levy. Fonda is repped by ICM, manager Chris Barrett and attorney Kenneth Kleinberg. Howard is repped by CAA, Sentient Entertainment and attorney Jeff Shumway. WME-repped Johnson previously starred in "Final Destination 3."
