It's an issue I've always thought of, why is there a problem with women being topless while men can walk around town with no t-shirt, showing off their abs, nipples and whatnot? Female breasts are an object of desire, maybe, but isn't a msn's body also something to look at in a ''naughty way'' too?
In reality, female breasts are not sexual organs. They are scientifically classified as secondary sex characteristics, similar to the male Adam’s apple.
that's just how society is programmed. i honestly don't think this one is as harmful as a lot of societal norms regarding women's sexuality because all it really results in is them covering something and not them really losing self esteem, and i doubt it'll change anytime soon, so i wouldn't get too angry about it

any outside force that controls a woman's body is harmful
Reena Glazer writing in the Duke Law Journal, sees a patriarchal undercurrent to it: “Because women are the sexual objects and property of men, it follows that what might arouse men can only be displayed when men want to be aroused.”
When Rih wore her CFDA dress all these men were talking about how she reduced her worth and how she isn't wife material etc, all she did was show her nipples :/
It's not just men women have bigoted views on it too bc internalised self hate and misogyny
It's just an issue of women being seen as a sexual object. Society is built over a strictly religious pre-society where women were seen as evil and their bodies were an object of desire. Seeing their bodies naked meant distraction and sin and that thought has stayed disguised with other excuses.
