Hey everyone and welcome to my Best of 2013. Unfortunately I don't have a banner like everyone else, so I might as well go with this:
MLD'S BEST OF 2013
This year in particular has been my favorite one so far this decade. So many of my faves released albums this year, and so many hot guys released music as well and many Idol, X Factor & The Voice contestants from all over the world brought it this year with their music.
Because I have listened to so many great songs this year, I have increased my Top Songs list from 100 to 200 this year. My favorite album tracks list will be increased to 50, and the music videos will be increased to 25.
This year's lists will be:
1. Top 200 Singles of 2013
2. Top 50 Album Tracks of 2013
3. Top 30 Albums of 2013
4. Top 25 Music Videos of 2013
5. Top 20 Performances From American Idol, X Factor & The Voice
+ Other special blurbs
Hope you guys will enjoy my countdowns this year. In the mean time, let's kick the party off with the mash-up of the year!
Coming up first is Top 30 Albums of 2013 so stay-tuned.
- Next month I will be turning 20, thus I will be entering a new decade of my life, so with every update, we will look back at some of my favorite songs from when I was 10 in 2004 to when I was 19 in 2013.
And I just realized it will be better off to start with the easier categories, so Best Performances will be up first.
Joelle's only great performance in the live shows. Redfoo really screwed her up and by the time she had done this performance at the Top 8 round, it was too late to repair the damage. It's a shame this was the week she left, when she wasn't the worst one that week. But at least she gave us this great performance before her elimination.
19. Luke Friend - What Makes You Beautiful (The X Factor UK)
I don't really care for Luke that much. But this was my favorite performance from him this season of the UK X Factor. He made the song his own and it actually sounded like something he would record after the show and something I would actually purchase from him.
18. Janelle Arthur - You Keep Me Hangin' On (American Idol)
The only performance from Janelle that I actually liked and loved. She was easily the weakest girl out of the 5. I liked her more than Kree though tbh. Anyways, I shouldn't be surprised this was her best performance. Smokey Robinson was a mentor that week, and Idol didn't have that many mentors last season, so this was really the only week Janelle had gotten help with her singing. And it worked for here. It's a shame she couldn't remain this good for the remainder of her time on the show.
[SIZE="3"]17. Omar Dean - Skyscraper (The X Factor Australia)[/SIZE
Omar had been my favorite boy out of the 3 this year on X Factor Australia for awhile. Later on, he basically got boring for me while Taylor Henderson got more exciting. But it's not often you hear a guy sing Skyscraper on these singing shows and I thought he did great with it. The falsetto at the last chorus. That being said, he got stale the weeks after this so I had to jump off the wagon wheel but I still love this performance from and I hope I get to hear music from him soon.
16. Tessanne Chin - Unconditionally (The Voice US)
Tessanne had been stale for me until she had performed this song at the Top 6 round. I love how she brought this song to life and actually slayed a Katy Perry song without being a trainwreck. I'm pretty sure she is gonna win now which I would just be fine with. She deserves it at this point.
Teens Flashback
7th grade sucked for me, but at least when I got home from school I could at least watch this video on Youtube or Fuse and forget about the assholes I had to deal with before I let the eye of the tiger out of my shell. This song is still a great bop to listen to every so often. Avril has better songs in her discography now, but I still love this bop.
