World Cup: Why doesn't the US use ha?
While other parts of the world are going crazy, the US is paying it absolute dust, as if the NBA Finals are the only thing going on. Aside from immigrants or US citizens with Latino heritage, why is the world cup a non-factor?

Because they have American Football and it's a specialization there. Like, in school I played football whilst most kids in the U.S play american football...

Soccer is not one of the more popular American sports and therefore the World Cup does not get as much attention.

This.
It's all good though since it's still the most popular and iconic sport.

I've thought about it and there's simply no space left I guess - Baseball, American Football, Basketball.
Same with Eurovision, sadly, I have no idea what public broadcaster would show it during prime time and there's already several competitions so I don't think anyone will step up to the plate. NBC reportedly bought the rights to an "Americavision" concept, but only so no other station would try something.
Soccer is basically on life-support with most of the US yelling let ha go.

I don't get that at all...
These are the most popular sports in the US (in order) :
1. American Football
2. Baseball
3. Basketball
While handball & football (I refuse to call it soccer, it IS football, bye!) are the most popular sports in Europe.

I think it's because people here don't like what isn't ours tbh.
First off, most of our country is scared of losing anything, and can't handle when we're not looked upon as "the best" for some reason. With that, the world cup and soccer itself requires international participation, which doesn't guarantee an American win. After looking at that, I think the fear is more deeply embedded in the American psyche. After we left Britain and separated ourselves as a whole, I think the attitude that we could do anything on our own without help never truly left. You see it in many forms, not just with soccer but with pop culture (music, fashion, &etc.) For example, the 90s deep house revival, people here don't like it because they say "American music is better than anything else," choosing a country song which only talks about Beer and Chevy's/Fords or a rap song with extreme profanities focusing solely on sex, instead of songs with meaning. You see it when songs hit the top ten worldwide and don't even enter the top 50 in the US, sometimes not even charting whatsoever. Take dance music for example, and it's worldwide popularity, even in Canada and Mexico, but not the US. Also with fashion, people in the US, unless there's an interest in it, stick to the basics they've always known and don't stray from it. I just think this entire country is terrified of change, things unfamiliar to them, and all in which they don't come out on top tbh.

Because to us an international competition that matters is the Olympics and we mostly win the medal count

United States/Americans think you're allowed to pick up a ball.

The Ancient Greeks and Romans are known to have played many ball games, some of which involved the use of the feet.
