A six-year-old Utah boy underwent cosmetic surgery after bullies at his school teased him on the size of his ears. Gage Berger, a child in first grade, was often called "elf ears" by classmates—according to Berger's parents Tim and Kallie. Out of fear that being bullied at such a young age would hurt Berger's mental health in the long-term, his parents decided surgery was the best solution.
As idealistic as it is to assume that other kids would eventually accept him no matter what, the reality is that he WOULD be teased for it for the entirety of his school years. His parents are saving him from years of potential depression and bullying.
I see no problems in this. If the child wanted to do it and the parents are onboard who are any of we to question their decisions. There was an entire 20/20 special some years back where this boy with a similar issue was bullied so bad that he had to become home schooled. Why would any parent want to watch their child suffer?
well parents get their children circumcised, get their teeth done etc.
He's their kid and if surgery was safe and the kid appreciate it then what do you want to talk about....
Although it is sick that he was bullied for it...but young kids can be mean and they might realize it later...
