It’s the song that kicked off a year of drama between Kanye West, Kim Kardashian West and Taylor Swift, and now the original version of “Famous” has hit the internet.
On Thursday, an earlier recording of West’s song surfaced online, and the controversial lyrics involving the “Shake It Off” singer and his ex Amber Rose contrast from what the rapper changed them to in the final version of the track.
“I feel like Taylor Swift still owe me sex / I made that bitch famous,” West is heard rapping on the demo. He then repeats part of the verse but subs in Rose’s name. “I feel like Amber Rose still owe me sex / Why? I made that bitch famous / Not really, but somewhat famous,” he raps.
After the song was released in February (“For all my Southside n—-s who know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why, I made that bitch famous,” read the lyrics in the final version), Swift’s rep told PEOPLE “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account” and that the singer “declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message” and “was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.'”
