Hey ATRLers! This is my first year as a member and first year doing the list! I do realize that i don't know that many of you here and i'm not a super active member. But this seems really fun so i'm just going to do (and hopefully finish) it anyway.
Lists: 30 Best Songs of 2016 and 10 Worst Songs of 2016
What to Expect: Lots of pop music (mainstream pop, indie pop, country pop, dance pop and so on...). I didn't make a list on here last year, but if i did, the best song of 2015 would have been Run Away With Me! Also, take a look at my signature for a glimpse of my flawless tastes.
Eligibility: Since this is my first year, i'm going to be a little relaxed on the cutoff. All the songs on the lists are songs that i have discovered in 2016, not necessarily released in 2016. But as i have been obsessing over pop music for several years, most of the songs are 2016's songs anyway.
I will start with the Worst list and then the Best list (check the dates below). A small review will also be given for each song.

I know, i know, an unpopular opinion here. I genuinely don't hate this song, i'm just extremely annoyed by it. 24K Magic is glossy, energetic and funky - but it lacks the fun and the charm that Uptown Funk possesses. Long gone were the days that Bruno sings PG timeless anthems. Rather, 24K Magic paints Bruno as a serial playboy, an unlikable one that is.
9. Heathens - twenty one pilots
I have a love/hate relationship with twenty one pilots. Stressed Out and Ride are two of my favorite tracks from this year, but i also happen to dislike Heathens. Music generally makes me feel better, Heathens does the opposite. This song is such a mood-killer, with its unpleasant references to psychopaths and murderers and a depressing vibe.
8. My House - Flo Rida
After all these years, i'm still perplexed by Flo Rida's ability as a hitmaker. He has no personality and his songs are forgettable. My House is everything i expected from Flo Rida; a dull concept and lyrics about party and sex, layered over a boppable beat. I actually quite like the melody of the verses, but whatever little enjoyment i might have is then ruined when the obnoxious chorus kicks in.
7. Lost Boy - Ruth B
Why was this a radio hit? This is one of the sleepiest songs of 2016. The lyrics would work better for a middle school play and not a mainstream release. I'm not a fan of all these sugary metaphors, and definitely not the bridge. Boring, that's what this song is.
6. H.O.L.Y. - Florida Georgia Line
H.O.L.Y. is the duo’s desperate attempt at making "serious" music. H.O.L.Y. stands for “high on loving you” – what kind of generic and overly-cheesy acronym is this? And there goes the rest of the song, which is about as mind-numbing and forced as the title itself. They should just go back to their partying and drinking, picking up girls roots, because as bad as those songs were, they certainly didn’t prepare me for this.

I wasn't a huge fan of Heathens at first but it actually just grew on me fairly recently.
24K Magic What a bop. My House is cute and pretty innocent, way better than some of his other single attempts (between GDFR and now.)
Lost Boy is a bore and the constant Peter Pan references make me cringe after a while. H.O.L.Y. isn't good either so those 2 are solid picks.

My House is definitely better than GDFR, but it's still bad to me Heathens is also not that bad, i just don't want to hear it on the radio

all that songs are horrible
Heathens is also not that bad, i just don't want to hear it on the radio
and Heathens isn't my favorite song from 21P but I don't hate it 
anyway waiting for next set
